Job Description:

We're looking for an exceptional backend engineer to help us scale and connect millions of devices to wireless networks.

The projects and potential impact are incredible. We're looking for talented, ambitious, and entrepreneurial team members who are excited to tackle these challenges.

As a backend engineer, you will:

• Design, implement, and deploy exciting new features
• Help us scale to 10’s of millions of customers & connected devices
• Build quality tools and frameworks to ensure a high-quality product
• Build monitoring and alert systems to support continuous uptime

Remote role based out of our Toronto Office available for Canadians in the eastern time zones, for example: Toronto, Montréal, or Québec city. Candidates who can join without sponsorship requirements are welcome to apply.

Requirements:

• Strong knowledge of Java and Spring Boot. Other programming languages are acceptable but you will need to learn Java. Experience with Kotlin, JavaScript, Node.js or Python is a bonus.
• Strong knowledge of RDBMS and NoSQL concepts
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Kubernetes, and Docker
• Hands-on API design experience
  
• Experience with API Gateway like ApiGee, Spring Cloud Gateway, or Express Gateway
• Have built integration with payment, email, notification etc. service providers like Twilio, Adyen, Stripe, and SendGrid
• Have knowledge of networking and operating systems. Bash programming for example.
• Have built tools for application templates, CI/CD, deployment, and Jenkins
• Have been part of teams building complex distributed cloud systems
• Self-starter and strong, quick problem-solving skills
• Experience with scale and high-traffic applications
• Experience with different nonfunctional conformance aspects like security, reliability, and high availability

Bonus Points:

• Experience in Domain-Driven Design, Event Storming techniques to flush out high-level architectural patterns
• Modern clean code coding practices supported by automated testing
• Prior fast growth organizational experience
